We do not publish scores or star ratings yet. Our reviews describe what a company offers and what it costs, from sources you can check, so you can compare for yourself.
What we check
- Prices and premiums: what the company charges over the spot price, from its own published prices on the day we checked.
- Fees: account, storage, shipping and selling-back costs, where the company publishes them or provides them in writing.
- Registered accounts: whether metal can be held in an RRSP, TFSA or LIRA through the company, and which trustee or administrator holds the account.
- Storage: where the metal is kept, who holds it, and whether it is held in your name.
When data is missing
We do not guess. If a company does not publish a figure, we say so.
How we get paid
Some companies we review pay us when readers click through or become customers. That can affect which companies we cover and where they appear on our site.
